Meet Sean
While out boating with friends, he slipped on a marine ladder and fell, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
After months of intensive care and rehabilitation, Sean sought ways to enjoy the outdoors as he had before his accident. Though he managed to return to water activities like swimming and kayaking, he struggled to access many outdoor areas he previously enjoyed.
Sean discovered the Firefly, a specialized wheel that attaches to the front of a manual wheelchair to help with off-road terrain and long distances.
Through a Victory Scholarship, Sean received the Firefly attachment and returned to being active outdoors!
"Receiving the Firefly has tremendously improved my life and overall happiness. To me, it's a crucial tool for regaining everything I lost the moment I fell. It's safe to say the VVF scholarship was a gift of access, confidence, and independence. That means the world to me!
