In the summer of 2023, Celeste and her husband were enjoying the motorcycle road trip of a lifetime across the United States. Their journey took an unexpected turn when an animal darted across the road. Making a split-second decision to avoid collision, Celeste swerved and was thrown from her bike, resulting in a T6-T7 complete spinal cord injury that left her paralyzed from the waist down.

Celeste’s active lifestyle changed in an instant. After spending a month in the hospital, she began searching for ways to regain her independence and improve her quality of life. Her search led her to Touchstone Rehab but the cost of sessions posed a significant financial challenge.

Through a Victory Scholarship, Celeste gained access to the consistent activity-based training she needed. Since then, she has focused on weight-shifting exercises to take steps. Her balance, posture, endurance, and agility have all improved drastically. Keep up the great work, Celeste!
