Meet Josh

In the summer of 2023, Josh was working as an intern at Goldman Sachs. While with some other interns one day, he jumped into a swimming pool and heard a cracking sound as he hit the bottom. Despite trying multiple times to reach the surface, he quickly realized he had no feeling below the chest. Josh was pulled out of the pool and rushed to the hospital where he learned he had fractured his C6 vertebrae and was paralyzed from the chest down.

Josh knew he wanted to get back to school as soon as possible, but had concerns about how he would be able to access his classes. When Josh learned about the Power Assist Wheelchair System, he knew that this was the piece of equipment that would enable him to get back to his day to day activities.

VVF was honored to be able to provide Josh with a scholarship so he could get this piece of mobility equipment and continue his education!
