What are you Facing, Embracing, Defying and Conquering? The ability to be active and independent while living with a spinal cord injury.

How do you FACE it? Accept it, I may not be able to change my disability, but I can change my perception about it.

How do you EMBRACE it? I am grateful that I am alive and appreciate the abilities I do have. 

How do you DEFY it? I refuse to let my injury and wheelchair hold me back from experiencing life and adventure.

How do you CONQUER it? I may not be able to do things the way I used to before my injury, so I figure out how to do them differently using adaptive equipment.

What does this scholarship from VVF mean to you? Receiving this scholarship greatly reduces my financial burden, gives me peace of mind, and allows me to be independent while enjoying the great outdoors. My independence is possible because of the kindness and generosity of VVF and their supporters, who understand the importance of financial assistance for those of us living with disabilities.
