At birth, Christopher was diagnosed with Femoral Hypoplasia, a congenital deformation of the hips, hip sockets, femur bones, and knees. After many reconstructive surgeries, Christopher found his passion in his wheelchair basketball team. A Victory Scholarship kept Christopher in the game with a new wheelchair he needed to continue to safely play.
“I can continue to engage in the sport that I love and keep being active and healthy both mentally and physically. My team also gives me access to more social interactions with teammates and members of other teams who are similar to myself, creating an environment that will enhance my self-esteem.”
