After Alisa suffered an aneurysm that resulted in a stroke, she was faced with the daunting task of learning how to walk again through 10 plus years of PT, OT and speech therapy. As she made progress in her recovery, she found herself wanting to get back to the active life she led before her injury.
In her pursuit to return to a more active lifestyle, Alisa had the chance to try a Trigo Trike, an adaptive recumbent bike, and immediately felt hopeful. A Victory Scholarship awarded Alisa her very own bike to improve her mental and physical health, all while doing it in nature with her friends, family and a new community through biking groups.
“This opportunity has made me active in ways that I didn't know were quite possible for me, and allows me to do more with the people I love while inspiring others in the community. Anything is possible at any age!”
