Meet Mia
“I never thought 3 years ago when I was getting ready to start my second year of college that my life would change so drastically.”
Meet Mia, whose life took an unexpected turn when she suffered a C3 spinal stroke at just 19 years old. The spinal stroke left her paralyzed from the shoulders down.
Through activity based training Mia has made so much progress over the past few years. She’s now able to walk short distances with forearm crutches and has goals to continue to improve her fine motor function.
Thanks to a Victory Scholarship, Mia can continue her essential therapy sessions at @projectwalknewjersey. These sessions are crucial for maintaining her progress and working towards independence.
“This scholarship ensures I can continue to make progress with my mobility, help me to become independent and alleviate some of the financial burden.”
