Meet Jeremy

Labor Day weekend 2020 changed Jeremy’s life forever. While visiting his parents' home with family, Jeremy took a quick swim in the pool. Tragically, no one saw him jump in, and he was later found unconscious at the bottom of the pool. With his wife eight months pregnant with their first son, Jeremy was rushed to the hospital where he learned he had a C5-C6 spinal fracture. Jeremy underwent two immediate surgeries, spent two weeks in the hospital, and two months in rehabilitation.

Today, Jeremy is a father of two boys - his first son born during his rehabilitation and his second son born exactly three years to the day of his injury. Prior to his injury, Jeremy was a union Glazier in NYC for 20 years and a 9/11-related cancer survivor who loved outdoor activities like fishing and kayaking.

Since beginning treatment at Project Walk in New Jersey in April 2023, Jeremy has made more progress than in the two years prior. Through his VVF scholarship, Jeremy continues his rehabilitation journey with the goal of enjoying outdoor activities with his children and increasing his independence.
