Meet Carson
In August 2019, Carson suffered a life-changing injury while camping. While diving into water that had become unexpectedly shallow due to the lowering tide, he struck his head on a sandbar. After being airlifted to a hospital in Santa Rosa, Carson woke from an induced coma to discover he was quadriplegic with limited mobility in his arms and no movement in his fingers or legs.
Carson found SCI Fit, an activity-based training facility that could help him maintain and improve his physical fitness. However, financial constraints after COVID-19 prevented him from attending regularly, causing his physical fitness to decline.
A Victory Scholarship allowed Carson to return to SCI Fit for activity-based training sessions, helping him work toward greater independence and improved well-being.
