When Andre was three, he came down with a fever that quickly turned into much more severe symptoms. Andre ended up in the ICU while his mother (Kamareia) anxiously waited for answers. It was confirmed Andre had intense swelling in his brain and was in a coma. The swelling caused a traumatic brain injury and the next few months were filled with uncertainty for Andre and his family about what their future would look like.

Almost three months after they were admitted into the hospital, Andre was able to go home, but their lives had been flipped upside down.

Kamareia has worked hard to provide her son with the best resources to regain as much mobility and independence as possible. When she discovered Scifit Fresno.

She started noticing Andre making progress and getting stronger. It is vital that Andre continues attending these sessions in order to have the best quality of life possible.
