Meet Trevor

In the summer of 2020, Trevor was on a much-anticipated vacation with his close friends. They spent one day swimming in the ocean and diving off the dock. As the day went on and the tide went out, Trevor didn’t realize how shallow the water had become. When he went to take his next dive into the water, he hit the bottom. Trevor immediately knew something was wrong, but thankfully he was able to call to his friends who helped bring him to shore. The next few hours were a blur, but Trevor soon heard the news that he had sustained a C6 spinal cord injury.

After returning home and learning to adapt to his new normal, Trevor set a goal to be as independent as possible. He found through training at React Neuro-Rehab that he was able to make the most progress in meeting this goal. However, the financial burden of these sessions was overwhelming, and Trevor feared that his journey to recovery would be hindered by the lack of funds.

A Victory Scholarship allowed Trevor to attend several intensive stretches of training at React Neuro-Rehab and continue to works towards living independently.

“The Victory Scholarship means that someone believes in what I am working on. With the help of VVF, I won't have to worry about the cost of training sessions preventing me from doing everything I want to do.”
