Josh is a 30-year-old veteran who sustained a TBI on September 27th, 2016 as a result of being hit by a car while riding his bicycle home from a morning workout.
Josh had the opportunity to participate in activity based therapy. Prior to his accident, Josh was very active in CrossFit so the therapy style was just what he was hoping for, a chance to be out of his wheelchair. Destination Walk has that extra something Josh was looking for that conventional therapy does not. His goal is to one day walk again. However, the cost of the therapy is out of pocket. The driver that hit Josh did not have adequate insure to cover all expenses in a settlement.
The Victory Scholarship program was able to provide Josh with training hours to keep working towards his goal of walking again.
Through his communication device, Josh told VVF “I believe I will walk & talk again because VVF believes what I believe.”
