What are you Facing, Embracing, Defying and Conquering? On October 15th, 2017 I was involved in a car accident that left me paralyzed from the shoulders down. Everyday I face fear and anxiety.

How do you FACE it? By waking up every morning with a positive mindset.

How do you EMBRACE it? By accepting my current situation, by still doing things within my capabilities as a wife and a mom but never giving up HOPE that I will one day overcome it.

How do you DEFY it? Working through the pain, making strides everyday to get better even though the odds are against me.

How do you CONQUER it? Working hard, researching new methods and praying.

What does this scholarship from VVF mean to you? It means a lot! A peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about how we will pay for someone to come care for me every day.
