What are you Facing, Embracing, Defying and Conquering? Austin is facing Acute Flaccid Myelitis.

How do you FACE it? Austin gets up everyday without a complain, ready to face his busy schedule, not letting anything get him down.

How do you EMBRACE it? Austin is aware of his condition and how it happened. He tells people his legs are sleepy and he’s working really hard at therapy to wake them up!

How do you DEFY it? When Austin first got sick, he could barely sit up unassisted. He never says “I wish I could walk.” he always says “When I walk again.”

How do you CONQUER it? He can now stand holding onto something for a few seconds at a time. He gets a determined look on his face and pushes his limits every therapy session.

What does this scholarship from VVF mean to you? This scholarship is allowing Austin the opportunity to continue locomotor therapy to allow him to one day walk again.
